4 Door Theatre

While I was in Minneapolis I was approached by these two guys. One of them was holding a sign and had a hand full of CDs. The other was carrying a guitar. "Have you guys heard us sing yet?" My friend and I answered with a hesitant yes. They, however, didn't hesitate to start playing a song from their EP that they released last year. As they performed they handed me a CD to look at it. The name of their band is 4 Door Theatre. Two of the members are following Emblem3 on their Waking Up Tour getting the word out about their band. They also have their own shows set up for the summer. These boys are keeping themselves busy. They've been so busy following tours that they have actually been known as the band that you could find at any show, anywhere. A lot of other people had the same encounter that I did. They've been doing this for two years.
They have managed to perform in 46 of 50 states since 2014. Along with that is the massive selling of their EP, Only Imagine. The boys have sold 11,000 copies simply by word of mouth. That's an outstanding accomplishment. The best thing about this is that they are completely independent!
The band consists of three very talented boys. They are from Nashville, Tennessee. Seeing them in Minneapolis was quite a shock. It takes dedication to spend that much time and money just to stand outside a venue and hand out your EP for $5. Honestly, they could've charged a lot more for it too. Their music is amazing! Anyways, the band consists of Garrett Joseph Cyr, Bipul Lama, and Travis (TJ) Salvati. From what I gathered meeting them, Garrett is the lead singer. Bipul is the guitarist. That leaves Travis as the drummer. Sadly, Bipul and Garrett were the only two that I met.
Moving on to what I really want to write about, their music. As I mentioned above, all of this is done independently. I always have such love for bands that do this. It shows more soul, love, and passion for what they are doing. The music has so much more meaning behind it when it comes only from the artist. "Only Imagine" is available on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, and Play Music. Of course if you run in to them at your local venue, you're able to purchase a hardcore copy of the EP. They boys will sign it, take a picture if you want, and just strike up a conversation with you. Meeting them in person is the only way to get your hands on an actual disc. The songs include: All I've Got, Alright With You, Porcelain Face, Casual, Love Walks Away, and Starting Fires. If you go to their shows you can hear new songs. "All I've Got" is their single and the song they perform the most while standing outside shows. I can't pick a favorite. You'll have to listen and then pick one for yourself!
That's all I've got for 4 Door Theatre. I can tell you that if you encounter them you need to get a CD. These boys are amazing! They are definitely going to be the next big thing. Take a picture. Get their autograph. You'll regret it if you don't! One day they'll be famous and you'll be able to say that you met them while they were busking. That is an amazing feeling! I got that with Emblem3. Oddly enough, that's how I came across this new discovery. I'm absolutely in love with these boys. I have their EP on repeat. It's been three days and I know every word. Check them out on Youtube, Spotify, and buy Only Imagine on iTunes. The four of us would greatly appreciate it!

We're WAKING UP!

I can honestly say that without a doubt, tickets to this concert was the best thing I've ever spent money on. Emblem3 is back and better than ever. Their Waking Up Tour is going to be the best one yet. Not only do they play throw back songs for those that were there when they were busking in Huntington, but they play songs from Nothing to Lose for those that joined the band a little later. Of course they played all of their new songs from the Waking Up Ep. Finally, they played songs that have never been heard before. Hear them first during their shows. Soon they will be released on their app.
Before I dive in to Emblem3's performance, let's talk about their opening acts. The ones that I saw were Megan Nichole and The Ready Set. This was the first show of the tour and there will be different acts joining them for certain shows. All of which I'm sure will be amazing. Megan wasn't exactly my favorite. She has a great voice, but to me she is an Ariana Grande knock off. She's trying too hard. She's a nice person and very talented. I won't deny that. Just not my cup of tea and I believe they could've have found a better act. The Ready Set has been my favorite opening act that I've seen. They surpassed Hey Violet. There was so much energy coming from him! He got the crowd involved as much as he could and got everybody dancing around. The bass was a little overwhelming, but very enjoyable. He played new songs from his new album and topped it off with "Love Like Woe" and "Best Song Ever (Give me your Hand)". Perfect opening act for Emblem3. He got the energy level up and the crowd pumped.
Emblem3 opened with "Now", which I think is brilliant and also the obvious song to start with. I don't want to spoil too much of the concert for those who are going. All I will tell you is that you won't be disappointed. In the middle of their set, they slow things down. They do acoustic songs. This is where the throw backs come in. Many of your favorites will make an appearance. Not many artists will separate their concert in to two different sections like they did. They either stick with their instruments and energy (All Time Low) or they go with acoustic all the way through (Ed Sheeran).
The boys were so nice to the crowd. They only sold so many tickets so that the venue wasn't packed. It was a small, calm crowd that gave the concert more of a personal feeling. Just about everybody there was able to have a small moment with the boys on stage. Personally, I got a wave and a lot of smiles and eye contact from Keaton. I also managed to get Wesley's attention and got a smile, point, and little dance. I managed to get that one on camera! Anyways, they own the stage and interact with their fans as much as they can. Keaton was given a hat from somebody and Drew swapped his out with somebody else's. They called out the people in the way back that were too scared to come up in to the pit. Bottom line is they gave everyone attention and lots of love.
Speaking of love, there is so much love between the three of them. Wesley stuck close to Keaton. They shared a mic frequently and hugged each other here and there. Smiles were constantly exchanged between the two. All of them gave major credit to each other after nailing an impressive solo. Drew carried Wesley around the stage for a while, which was hilarious and adorable. Their personalities are very prominent when they are on stage. I loved that. Finally, on top of all of that, the love they had for music was obvious. Keaton was constantly jamming out to every song and feeling every lyric and note played. Drew would get lost in the sound as he always does. Wesley would let the music flow through him and take him away. You could see how much they love doing what they're doing and how proud they are to be doing it. I've never seen someone feel their music the way that these three did. It was an amazing sight. I almost forgot to mention that the love they showed to the fans was unwavering and never ending.
To end this little write up, I'm going to throw in another personal experience. I was able to meet David Dudley. For those who don't know, he plays bass for the band when one of the boys isn't. He was the sweetest thing ever. When I asked for the picture he was rather shocked and stuttered when he answered with a yes. He is a gorgeous human being with a great personality. That picture will be something I treasure for the rest of my life, just like the memories I made when the band was performing. This was a night that I will never forgot. I found my happiness again with these guys. For that I can never repay them. I know that they will be doing the same thing for other people out there. If you haven't yet, get tickets now! You won't regret it. I promise. This experience is one that you will get nowhere else. Please, please support these amazing guys! Or at least check out their music!

I'm posting live videos from the concert on my Google+ page. Check it out! :)
